The 2011 Elizabeth Neuffer Memorial Silver Medal for written media coverage of the UN and its agencies was jointly awarded this year to Louis Charbonneau and Joe Laurence Lauria.  This section is about Joe Lauria's contribution.

Joe Lauria Joe Laurence Lauria, The Wall Street Journal

Joe Lauria has been the Wall Street Journal’s U.N. correspondent since Feb. 2009 and a journalist for more than two decades.  He has daily covered the U.N. for 20 years for several publications, including the Boston Globe, the London Daily Mail, the London Daily Telegraph, the Montreal Gazette, Ottawa Citizen, Vancouver Sun, Johannesburg Star and the German Press Agency dpa.  He has been an investigative reporter for the Sun- day Times of London since 2000, was a staff reporter at Bloomberg News and the New York correspondent for the London Sunday Business.  He is the author of a book with a former U.S. Senator and presidential candidate published by Seven Stories Press.
